Find which edge lost its seal
Describe whether the rope follows the outer rim that closes against the body or the edge of the viewing pane. Capture where the ends meet, and note whether the door suddenly takes more or less effort to latch. A latch problem can look like a gasket problem from across the room. A photo of the loose end and a second view of the entire cold door help a service provider distinguish them.
Order for the actual door
The Regency CI1200 and CI1250 manual treats the glass seal, door seal and latch as separate maintenance points. Your appliance can have a different arrangement even if its door looks similar. Ask for the correct cross section, material and attachment instructions for the specific model, and whether the door or retaining hardware also needs attention. Household adhesive and weatherstripping have no place in a wood appliance door assembly.
Describe a change in burn time without testing it again
If the last load burned unusually quickly or the air control seemed less responsive, put that history in the service request. It can prompt a check for uncontrolled air entering the firebox. Fuel, operation and other installation factors can also affect burn duration. Tightening a latch until it feels firm can mask an uneven seal and does not explain a changed firing pattern.
